Cophenylcaine Forte spray

(Lignocaine Hydrochloride 5.0%, Phenylephrine Hydrochloride 0.5%) ..may be used to "deaden" your nasal mucosa or vocal chords.

Placement of a (endotracheal) tube in the windpipe (trachea). This is usually done after the patient is asleep and with the assistance of a laryngoscope and muscle relaxant.

Shown here are some devices your anaesthetist may employ - particularly in situations where insertion of an endotracheal tube may be difficult.

Mouth Guard with oxygen attachment - frequently used during Fibreoptic Gastroscopy to prevent damage to the instrument and insure adequate oxygen supply to the airways.

Fibreoptic Laryngoscope - a flexible device which enables your anaesthetist to insert an endotracheal tube in situations where direct visualizatuion of your glottis is not possible
